The Footing was launched at The Shakespeare, Sheffield on 25 November 2013 with a specially-devised presentation featuring projections, readings, audio works and discussions. Click here to view a selection of photographs from the launch.
On 1 March 2014, Fay Musselwhite led Contra Flow, a specially-devised walk through the Rivelin Valley (on the edge of the Peak District), exploring the sites of her poems in The Footing, and tracing the river’s industrial legacy, its unique ecology, and its relationship to the city of Sheffield. On 14 June 2014 at Sheffield’s Bank Street Arts, Angelina Ayers, James Caruth, Mark Goodwin, Rob Hindle, Andrew Hirst, Chris Jones and Fay Musselwhite performed Pilgrimage, a crafted, continuous presentation of poems from The Footing, with the accent on memory and memorial.
